GCEO Kicks Off Fair Housing Month with Fair Housing Initiatives

April is National Fair Housing Month! The Federal Fair Housing Act (FHA) was enacted as Title VIII of the Civil Rights Act on April 11, 1968. In 1988, the state of Georgia passed the Georgia Fair Housing Law (GFHL) to safeguard individuals from housing discrimination in the sale, financing, and rental of a dwelling.

Allona Lane Cross was appointed to serve as the Executive Director of the Georgia Commission on Equal Opportunity (GCEO) by Governor Brian P. Kemp on October 24, 2019.

 

Jazmyn Frye Promoted to Director of Equal Employment for GCEO

On September 15, 2019, Jazmyn Frye was promoted to be the Director of Equal Employment for the Georgia Commission on Equal Opportunity where she enforces the Georgia Fair Employment Practices Act and manages the Equal Employment Division.
